Seamus Ikonya
Seamus Ikonya, born Seam Njuguna Ikonya, is a singer-songwriter born in Nairobi, Kenya in 1984 and currently living in Rimini, Italy. He grew up singing in church and high school choirs, and in various accappella groups as a teenager. He is heavily influenced by reggae, soul, gospel, RnB and Afro music. Seamus is a perfectionist with a fighting spirit always dedicated to self-improvement and seeking new challenges that fuel his growth.
After arriving in Rimini at a very young age, he began collaborating with Fabio Villani, founder of Kaya Sound System and the Vibes Corner label. Together they compose lyrics, exchanging passions and knowledge, with an eye always turned to Africa, thanks to the strong collaboration with Arkangel Records, Kenyan label with which Seamus has been working since the beginning of his career.
After a couple of singles for Vibes Corner and the featuring with Sizzla Kalonji All I’ve Got, the idea of Sweet Smile was born, his first EP published in 2021, which includes both previously released tracks and unreleased ones, the result of some collaborations with the artist.
