LaSoul
LaSoul is a Singer/songwriter and Music Producer based in Cape town, Wynberg. LaSoul is the Producer and Sound Engineer behind the High quality Productions and Recordings for one of Mzansi’s finest Singjay, NC DREAD. LaSoul sang alongside NC Dread in the Internationally acclaimed “Games” single.
LaSoul is the 1st voice that you hear in the 2013 animation movie entitled Khumba, where he sang a duet alongside Zwai Bala. Additionally, LaSoul’s production company Soulful Records produced the soundtrack for the movie, “Don’t Touch”, which was shown at the Apollo festival in Durban in 2006 and LaSoul’s instrumental compositions have been used on local tv shows such as Rhythm city and eKasi love stories.
2014 was a Good year for LaSoul, with his album Production of the artist named Adipeace, winning him a Best Sound and Dance award in Congo. Another Production for Rhayi Zandisile named Nguwe lona, also landed Rhayi the Best Dance song award in the Queenstown Awards.Many more of LaSoul’s Productions have been in the Number 1 Spot of the Top 10 charts in numerous radio stations, in South Africa and other African countries. To Date, LaSoul has Produced music for over 400 different artists from all over the continent, ranging from SA, to Congo, Burundi, Angola, Botswana etc. And some of the artists have won nominations and awards thanx to his Productions and Chris D of Burundi is also another example who won an Akeza award and was nominated for a 2012 Kora award.
The genres of music that he produces for the various artists who come to his studio is quite diverse ranging from Dancehall, Reggae, RnB, Hip Hop, Kwaito, House, Gospel, Zouk, Bongo flava and Gospel, just to name a few. Currently LaSoul just released an Ep entitled The Rain and he is in studio doing recording projects with NC DREAD, SK Sekoati( Kabelo from 7 De Laan) and Chrushanda Forbes (2011 Idols 3rd Runner up).
