Produced by Austad Sound and Kazi Ya Shamir, Kesho Riddim is a powerful reggae compilation grounded in the Swahili word kesho, meaning “tomorrow.” This soulful release brings together four dynamic artists — Nazizi, Shamir Tadeiya, Drecko Helpa, and Binti Afrika ft. Andalia 038 — who use music to reflect on the uncertainties of life and the enduring strength of the human spirit.
At the heart of Kesho Riddim lies a shared message: no matter how heavy today feels, tomorrow offers another chance — to fight, to smile, to believe, and to love again.
Leading the project is Kenyan icon Nazizi, affectionately known as The First Lady of East African hip-hop and Reggae. Her song, “Pambana”, dives into the intricacies of life’s unpredictability, calling for humility, strength, and trust in a higher plan. She sings about staying grounded in the present, while holding on to hope that tomorrow — no matter how mysterious — will bring light.
Shamir Tadeiya’s contribution, “Smile”, is a tender and motivating track that encourages listeners to keep going, no matter what. It’s about living fully today while nurturing dreams of a better tomorrow. Shamir reminds us not to give up on ourselves — to keep pushing, believing that brighter days are ahead.
From Uganda, Drecko Helpa shares “Good Friend”, a heartfelt ode to the kind of friendship that transcends time and hardship. The song speaks to real connection — bonds built on truth, trust, and love that remain strong through life’s toughest trials. His message is simple but profound: real know real.
Closing the riddim is “Kesho” by Binti Afrika featuring Andalia 038. It’s an uplifting celebration of resilience, faith, and the chance to begin again. The track looks toward the future with optimism, reminding us that every setback is an opportunity to rise, smile, love, and believe — in ourselves, in God, and in one another.
