Dicksy Mdlalose Wins Best Reggae Artist at the South African Traditional Music Awards [SATMA] 2024
Dicksy Mdlalose won the Best Reggae Artist for 2024 at the 19th edition of the South African Traditional Music Awards [SATMA]. The ceremony was held at Suncoast Casino Dome, KZN, his home town. Dicksy was up against South African Music Award Nominee Red I Scorch and Lesotho based Raggamuffin King Sensi Ranking.
Dicksy Dee Mdlalose has five albums that he has released in the last decade that he has been making Reggae music. His latest album Oneness People Lesson 5, had its digital release two days before the Award ceremony. It was a double celebration for him when he won the Award.
Dicksy’s First Album came out in 2013 as a Lesson in Reggae to his already large regional fan base. You see, Dicksy Mdlalose is a Weather Man. He presents Weather updates on Satellite TV, DSTV Channel 163 Mzansi Wethu and the news bulletin Izindaba Zethu.which is part of Newsroom Africa from 19:00 to 19:00 CAT Monday to Sunday. When he ventured into being a recording artist, he had to bring along his fanbase with, and tell them more about Reggae music. He did that with all his albums, up until the latest one which is the Fifth one, and he is giving lessons on Unity; Oneness People Lesson 5. The Album before was titled My Reggae Music Journey Lesson 4.
Dicksy is also an entrepreneur, he is a co-owner of a catering and hospitality service company. He is also friends with the King of Squats. Soon the ladies will be squatting to a Reggae Song by Dicksy.
