Jah Family 7R Star Productions, a collective of Reggae artists and DJs based in Canada came across an open Letter written by Empress Zewditu of Ethiopia. In 1920 titled Call to Africa. The letter was a call for Africans in the diasporas to return home to their motherland. With the same efforts resonating with the Rt. Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey, they both exchanged letters discussing cooperation and potential collaboration. Thus the Call To Africa Tour was initiated.

The Collective comprises Kush I Krown, a Rastafari Sistren born in Toronto, Canada to Jamaican parents. A staunch advocate for repatriation as evidenced in her music and lyrics. Her music has had rotation in and around Toronto; in Shashemane Ethiopia and in Jamaica She would later link up with Jah Youth and Je-sus Emmanuel to form the Jah Familz 7R Star Productions.

Kush I Krown worked with Cape Town based Noisey Boss Ent who co-produced the hit track “Shot It” . The Rastafari Dawta would later release the track Burkina Faso. A heartfelt Tribute to one third country of the SAHEL region championing the emancipation of Africa from the shackles of Neo Colonialism. She also put out a track Repatriation Is A Must in collaboration with Jah Youth.

Jah Youth, a founding member of the Jah Family 7R Star Producions, was born in Toronto Canada, to Jamaican parents. He played a sound system called Lane odyssey. He would later form Jah Family and Jah Family sound which performed in Toronto and Jamaica.  In 2025 Shakka Ras was added to Jah Family sound, making it now Jah Family Shakka Ras Sound. Jah Youth’s popular songs include: “AfricaAwaits” co-produced by Noisey Boss Ent. New Combinations with Kush I Krown , Prince Alla, Lutan Fyah, Norris Man, Jah Defender include  The R-Man Remix and Call To Africa.

Other acts who will be on the Call To Africa Tour include Fyah Locks also from Canada, Singjay Lucky Star from Jamaica who migrated to England and is now based in The Gambia.. Honorable Priest Je-sus Emmanuel, son of Prince Emmanuel Charles Edwards and president of the E.A.B.I.C. (Ethiopia Africa Black International Congress Church of Salvation). who plays Kette Drums will also be there. InI Man Born in Jamaica. Formerly from Caveman Sound, known for his fiery toasting and making the reggae and dancehall community and the world know about many Jamaican icons.  InI Man is now on the controls with JAH FAMILY SHAKKA RAS SOUND. 

On the local front, the collective will be welcomed and joined by undisputed heavyweights; The SAMA Award winner Black Dillinger and the multi talented versatile Crosby Bolani outta Cape Town. King Roots International Sound – strong advocates for Repatriation – will be holding it down in the Sound System corner alongside Jah Family Shakka Ras Sound.

Crosby Bolani, Empress Omega Ites outta Cape Town, and Mamazionlioness, Mandigits outta Johannesburg were instrumental in making this tour possible through their collaboration with Jah Family 7R Star Production

The event is open to the Rastafari community and all its Mansion, the youth, Reggae Music lovers and all who understand and know about repatriation being a must. Mama Africa is calling and her children are answering her call.

The tour will kick off in Johannesburg on April 12, in Maboneng Precinct and move to Cape Town on April 19, 2025.
