Benny ‘Be Good’ Motseki

Benny ‘Be Good’ Motseki, was born in Warmhoek (Bultfontein district) and later relocated to hoopstad. He currently resides in Lourrier park in Bloemfontein. His first love was soccer as a young boy,unaware of his great music talent.

By Virtue of his existence, man has always been musical !!! A composer, singer, poet. Benny started his music career during his school days. He used to sing at school and also at church. His family used to predominantly listen to reggae. In 2001 Benny lured by the late Joseph Makhele to join the well known World Vision Reggae Band which used to perform at Macufe,Vuka and Grahamstown Arts Festivals. In 2003 Benny then formed Ragga Muffin band, alongside Deda Batela and together they won the best reggae group award and came second on the best HIV/AIDs song Category, courtesy of U.B.A FS Mokete awards in Bloemfontein .The songs were composed by Benny who is a registered member of SAMRO and RISA. Benny and his wife, Maria then formed Benny Motseki and Wife Band in 2013 after the Ragga Muffin members went their separate ways .They then released their debut album titled King Selassie under their own independent record label (HIMHISI PRODUCTIONS). In 2015 this reggae family recorded their 15 Track Album called Afrophobia much to the delight of their beloved fans. Benny shared the stage with the late Sipho Johnson (Jambo), Dr.Victor and the Rasta Rebels, 1 People (the late Lucky Dube’s band), Johny Mokgadi, The Soil, Khaya, Alahyen. Benny & his wife were invited to the 20th South African Music Awards nominees announcement function at Carnival City. He also performed at pacofs during the 2015 tribute to Bob Marley hosted by pacofs and Angelo foundation in October, much to the delight of the fans who yearned for more!!Benny currently did his latest offering (The best of Benny Motseki & Wife) including new tracks/21 songs.

BMW’s music is also on juke boxes in Free State, Northern Cape, and North West (ANK & MEGGA PLAY JUKE BOXES)
