Award Winning artists in Hip Hop, Kwaito and Reggae team up for this gospel themed song titled Thixo Wami [My God]. The single gets its official release on June 23, 2023.
Two times South African Music Awards [SAMA] Winner for Reggae, Bongo Riot, get a feature alongside South Africa’s Top Dogs in the Industry. Big Zulu is a South African multi award winning Rapper and songwriter known for making hit songs and collaborations with big stars like Cassper Nyovest, Ricky Rick and Sjava amongst others. Zola 7, a kwaito musician, actor, writer, TV presenter, considered to be one of the biggest artists to come out of the South African Entertainment Industry and celebrated for having helped a lot of people through his show “Zola 7”. Multiple award winner, Zwake is considered to be the best lyricist in the Hip Hop game; his self-titled debut album Zakwe became the first Zulu hip hop album to earn gold status and has bagged the award for Best Vernacular Hip Hop at the 12th South African Traditional Music Awards.
After unceremoniously parting ways with his label Powetainment Reggae Sound, Bongo Riot, Di Dancehall Wakanda’ has been putting in works and reconnecting and reviving his links in the Music and Entertainment industry. This massive collaboration was sparked on by Bongo Riot himself. The story goes (as related by Bongo himself); Bongo Riot was listening to a beat produced by Casmo Marsiano. He did the hook and sent it to Zwakwe. Zwake then sent it to Big Zulu, who liked it so much. Zwake and Big Zulu decided to bring in Zola 7 who laid his signature Kwaito vibe and Boom, Thixo Wam was born.
His most popular song ‘Dlozi Lam’ which accelerated his position as the Dancehall King within the Reggae circles finally got to the main stream as the theme song for a new Telenovela ‘Isitha – The Enemy’ which premiered in May 2023 on ETV. He is currently working an EP with more collaborations of popular artists in the market.
