Luwe Da Lion

Luwe Da Lion, real name Lunga Wela, is a reggae singer and song-writer from Durban. He is fast gaining waves of interest in his local music industry with his fresh sound which is setting him apart from his peers. Luwe fell in love with the creation of music and began writing songs at the age of 15 working with a number of artists from different genres. In 2008 he then recorded his first song which was a hip hop track followed by an EP in 2009 titled Dusty Voices EP. With his experience in song-writing it was easy for him to express himself and speak with rhythm through music. He performed all around Kwa-Zulu Natal and he had his first performance outside the province in 2010 in the mother city, Cape Town, where he performed alongside Cape Town artists. After being inspired by reggae music in 2010, he returned to Durban and began working on his first reggae project which was produced by Plan B. In 2013 he released an album titled Journey to Zion and later released Journey to Zion delux edition. Thereafter in 2016 he and Plan B released an EP titled Hunting Season (sweet reggae sound).

Luwe Da Lion has also performed alongside international artists such Mega and Turbulence from Jamaica, to name a few. He is now currently working on another project under Roots n Kulcha Entertainment with King David (RAW) and Nature Vybz (Hottwaxx). In promotion of the current project, Luwe has performed some of the tracks to feature on the album in local gigs. He is soon to shoot a music video for one of his hit tracks to further promote the upcoming release. To reach out to more music lovers Luwe makes his music available to the public online.
