Reggae Stalwart DubMasta China, one of the most loved and hardworking DJ from Cape Town, has just recently had a tumour, the size of a tennis ball, removed from the frontal lobe of his brain. The operation was successful and it is reported that the DubMasta is well and back home. He is still on the recovery journey, The medical procedure was successful and very costly, a financial burden that China will not be able to carry alone.
The Reggae community and Cape Town’s creatives quickly rallied around and organised the solidarity event to help with the costs. A suggested donation of a minimum of R100 will be asked at the door, with all proceeds going directly to China himself.
The line-up of performances has, the reggae luminaries Sons of Selassie Band, Teba the Social Worker, Crosby Bolani, Real Rozanno, DJ Dynamite and Higher Grade. There will also be Drum n Bass, Jungle and Electronic vibes; genres that Dub Masta has dabbled in during his long luminous career in music.
