Ogechukwu Nwamaka Onwubuya

Born into a musically talented family, daughter of The Late African Reggae Legend Ras Kimono proves that music flows in her veins and has carved a niche for herself in the reggae and dance-hall scene in the Nigerian music industry. OGE KIMONO whose full name is Ogechukwu Nwamaka Onwubuya was born on the 14th day of August 1985 in Ikeja, Lagos State. It wasn’t too long before she began to show interest in music. At age 10 she started singing as a hobby and also in the school choir in her days of high school up until 2003 when she picked it up professionally with the encouragement of her father. Her vocal prowess gained her spots as backup vocalist for quite a number of reggae musicians across the world including Tuklan, Ade Bantu, Uwe Banton all based in Germany and Rocky Dawuni a known Ghanian act based in U.S.A and also not to forget Ras-kimono who groomed her. She has been on world class stages where she shared the spot light with the likes of Beenie Man, Damian Marley and Nas, Luciano, Turbulence to mention a few. Oge Kimono has also been featured on tracks with the Nigerian German based duo Tuklan where she showed her vocal strength alongside Beenie Man, Anthony B and also with Uwe Banton alongside Luciano.

Inspired by the likes of her legendary father Ras Kimono, Bob Marley, Tarrus Riley, Queen Ifrica and Lauryn Hill, Oge Kimono has a blend of roots reggae, lovers rock and dancehall vibes that meets the demand of every reggae fan. She has pulled electrifying performances at world class shows including the prestigious concerts such as:
