Jugglerzz Rumble 2019 – @Lion Paw International-online

Lion Paw International Group in partnership with African Pride Sound System presents the 2nd edition of Jugglers Rumble, a Reggae Dancehall sound clash event. The clash will be held at Mix Lounge in Johannesburg, on Saturday 29 June 2019 and the winner will walk away with R3000 cash prize.

The clash culture is in its infancy here in South Africa but is an instrumental and integral part of Reggae culture worldwide, so popular that even RedBull appropriated it and is hosting global culture clashes in major cities, idealised on the Reggae Dancehall sound system culture. The global event even reach Johannesburg in 2017 and had African Storm Sound System representing Dancehall, pitted against Hip Hop (AKA), Gqom/house (DJ Tira) and AfroBeats (Pato Ranking). To experience the real authentic sound clash one has to look to the Rumble Series World Clashes hosted by Irish and Chin. The Real Deal where Soundboys kill or get killed and dubplates serve as killing machines. Dynamiq from Sudan won the US Rumble in 2018

Lion paw international, co-organisers of Jugglerzz Rumble Clash, have always advocated for the sound clashes through their On-line Radio Show and sound system.

“The history of sound systems and sound clashes is so vast that we cannot afford to sideline it.This is such an integral part of the culture and we see this as a growth engine even for artistes through dub plates and customs.” – DJ Lion Paw

Apart from African Storm Sound System (though they never clashed with any South African Sounds) Jah Crucial Hi Fi has been holding it down in the sound clash arena with an impressive collection of dubplates from foundation artists including the likes of Mikey Dread and Macka B; but its Lion Paw Sound System who currently holds an extensive collection of dub plates here in SA. They represented SA in the 6th annual SA – Zim Reggae Sound Clash hosted by Bashmouth Sound in Cape Town and walked away with the title for the Dub-Fi-Dub Clash 2014. Now they are working behind the scenes, building up, solidifying the sound system clash culture in South Africa bringing the second installment of the Jugglerzz Rumble 2019.
