Cherine Anderson gears up for South Africa Visit

Cherine Anderson is getting ready for her debut South African performance on Saturday, 26 September. She will be headlining the Urban Vibes Concert,  part of the Joburg International Arts Alive Festival in Newtown, Johannesburg. Singjay, Jah Vinci will also  form part of the line up  along with other local acts including Freeky, Tumi, Kwesta, Freshly Ground amongst others.

Cherine’s career started at an early age of 14 when she starred in the Jamaican Film Dancehall Queen in the role of Tanya, the Dancehall Queen’s daughter. Later she played the role of Serena, in the award winning movie One Love alongside Kymani Marley and Idris Elba where she also penned and performed three songs for the movie soundtrack. She has worked and toured with Sly and Robbie [who also performed in South Africa for the first time recently] and they will also be producing her upcoming album.

South African fans will be treated to an electrifying Reggae Dancehall Soul music performed live with her band and will include new material from her upcoming album; and the event happens the day after her earthday, so the celebrations will continue right throughout. Her chart topping hits include Coming Over Tonight with Chuck Fender, Kingston State of Mind, Haffi Come Back, Eagles and Doves, Talk if you talking and more.

The talented Jamaican dancehall reggae vocalist has expressed her anticipation of the upcoming trip in a series of Instagram posts and captions with a hashtag #CherineinSA. She will also be documenting their journey on the Duffle Bag Diairies Series on her website www.cherinetv.com, a Vlog giving fans the opportunity to meet her team, and observe her process in creating a special show for the South African fans.

The clip below is of her rehearsal with the Band from her instagram post.
